Words from our teacher in Pandemic 3

The last few weeks have been challenging to say the least as we all learn to live in the ‘New Normal’ under the dark shadow of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. All our lives have been disrupted and drastically changed within just a matter of few weeks.
In the face of this crisis, I have witnessed the greatness of our SSK family through the compassion and goodwill of every single member of our family. I am especially proud of the service and dedication demonstrated by our hardworking teachers. They have gone above and beyond to assemble lesson plans, adapted and tailored their teaching methods to deliver classes through a virtual platform within a very short space of time.
We, at SSK strongly believe that in this uncertain environment, it is vital that learning continues even if we can’t make it happen in person. Our students are at the heart of everything we do and we believe that sustaining a routine through online schooling and maintaining interaction with their teachers and peers will sustain a level of normalcy in their day to day life. During these unprecedented times, this level of normalcy is vital for our children and their mental wellbeing and provides an escape from the negative connotations of this global crisis. I would deeply appreciate our little ones for their ease of adaptation with the new way of learning lesson through online classes!
As always, our international partner, Kinderland Singapore, has been an indispensable partner in delivering online learning to our students.
I would like to thank all of our esteemed parents for their patience and support as we acclimatise to this new way of schooling. And I shall part with a quote from one of my favourite fictional characters, Dumbledore from Harry Potter to remind ourselves that, ‘happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light’.
