Message for Preschool Parents

Dear Parents,

A very warm welcome to all our members of the Kinderland family! We hope you had a safe and intimate summer with your loved ones. It’s been a pleasure to see everyone’s faces since we started last week. The new Academic Year’20-21 is definitely not going to be normal in many ways as we adapt to a new era under the shadow of the coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic has challenged us to change the way we live, work and the way we continue to educate our children.

This year, all teaching professionals continue to navigate in this new path and overcome the various obstacles faced in a virtual platform of education. At the heart of it all, it is critical that despite these unforeseen circumstances, we allow our children to flourish and grow in a safe environment. And so far, the children have demonstrated remarkable flexibility and adaptability with the shift to virtual school at the end of last Academic Year and we are ever so proud of them.

Over the summer, the Kinderland Team was hard at work to make this school year a success with the teachers gathering resources and sketching out lesson plans. You may have gathered this already as the fruit of their labour was demonstrated last week. I was pleased to see the students interacting and participating with great zest and enthusiasm during their lessons.Thank you for your continued support and your active participation in the day to day activities.

We were pleased to see you at the Virtual Orientation meeting. In this letter, I am reiterating a few pointsmade in the meeting for clarity. We will continue to have classes five days a week as usual. From Sunday to Tuesday, there will be large group classes whilst on Wednesday and Thursday, it willbe more focused learning with a small group method of teaching. In the large group, teachers will deliver didactic lessons and will encourage children to be engaged and interactive. During the small group, we will be more focused on the individual student to explore whether the concept of the topic taught was fully grasped by each student. We will be utilizing Google Classroom through Zoom. Please kindly accept the invitation to be added into your child’s classroom if you have not accepted this yet.

Please note that we require you to have your child’s name as the user ID for the Zoom meetings, it will help us to recognize the participant to accept in the classroom.

We appreciate that all these instructions can be difficult especially if you are working from home as well. But we need your help more than ever to deliver education to our students right to your home.

In order to allow virtual school to be successful, we require your assistance and we have listed it below for ease:

• Please download your child’s Online Class Schedule and keep it at hand.

• Please ensure that your child is wearing school uniform for every school day and ready for the classes half an hour early.

• Please ensure that your child joins the class at least 2-3 minutes early and waits for their class teacher to admit them.

• Please ensure that his/her appearance is clearly visible on the monitor.

• Please do not be visible on the screen or try to communicate with the teacher during a class since it is only for student-teacher interaction.

• Please ensure that your child’s laptop or other devices are fully charged/connected to an adapter and that it’s working properly.

• Please ensure you go through the notices given and check Class Tune & Google Classroom every day for daily updates of homework and class assignments.

• Please encourage your child to complete the assigned homework and use the link given to help with the work.

• Please do not call the teacher whilst online class are going on but if you find any difficulty, you can always contact on the following phone numbers:  09612345775/ 01720205070.

• Please be around whilst your child’s online class is going on.

At SSK, we would like to ensure that you and your child have a successful pre-school experience. This has only been possible because of the continued support we have received from our dear parents over the years. We hope that we can work together again this year to attain yet another milestone in our big SSK family.

Finding new ways to make learning fun — no matter where it takes place.

Regards
